Thun Family: Christmas 2023

Christmas is 100% my favorite time of year, but then the day itself always come and go too quickly! This year Leah had two Christmas programs. Her first one was her Sunday School program. Tracy and Seth came down for the weekend so they could watch her in it. She was so ditsy and miss "performance girl" standing in front. She bowed, played with her dress, touched another kid's stomach, and my favorite she gave everyone "checkmarks" which looked like guns. Her next program was the all-school program. She only was on stage for about 10 minutes, but did much better participating and not so distracted. A bittersweet moment seeing my little baby up on a big stage.

The morning of Christmas Eve, Santa came. We left out cookies, milk, and a carrot. Leah got Sequence for Kids, a scooter, and a calendar. Brady got some magnetic trains, a toolkit, and shape flashcards. Paige got a lovey and a small toy. Both Leah and Brady got Kinetic sand from "mom and dad." After presents, we ate our egg bake and loaded up the van. We left for Silver Bay. We had candlelight church at 4:00. Leah and Brady thought the candles were pretty cool! Following church we went to Grandma and Grandpa Thun's house. Gift opening took way too long, in my opinion. I think we finally headed back up the hill around 10:30. Paige and Brady went to sleep pretty easily, but Leah was awake coughing until close to 2:30. Luke slept in the van to try and keep his allergies at bay.

We woke up in the morning, loaded the van back up and headed back home. It was a fast trip (as fast as a 4 hour trip can be), and then we headed to my mom's for my family's Christmas. They already had lunch, but we made it in time for gift opening, the Gift Card Rob Your Neighbor, and the Saran Wrap game. Always a fun time with my family.

The 26th was another busy day for the Mielke Christmas. Unfortunately Leah started coughing during lunch, and wouldn't stop. I sent her to the bedroom for the rest of the day. Luke had to work so couldn't join us.
