Our First Family Trip

The day after Leah finished her first year of school, we loaded up and headed south. Our first stop was at a hotel in Nevada, MO about two hours north of Springdale Arkansas. The next morning we headed to Springdale to visit with the Gless family. What a good visit and time seeing them. Leah loved their pool and talks about it still months later. We spent one night with the Glesses and went to church with them the next day. After church we headed for Branson, MO. On our first day in Branson, we had tickets to go see Dolly Parton's Stampede. It was awesome, the kids loved it (although Brady had to warm up first because it was very loud!). Once he liked all the animals, he would lean over and say "mom, don't worry, the horses come back!" Leah loved all the aerialists, and Paige was content just sitting on my lap. We stayed at a night AirBnb. The kids loved that they got to sleep on a big pull out bed in the living room. The next day we went to Silver Dollar City. It was a hot day spent doing little kid rides, getting some cinnamon bread, having a picnic, and just walking around touring the place. It was a lot of walking for Leah but she did great! We had supper at Cracker Barrel which was my only request for the week. Yum! The next day we went to a Children's Science Museum in Branson. There were 3 levels of different types of activities for the kids (and adults). We went and got lunch at Taco Bell. Later that evening Luke and Leah went to see the Sight and Sound Theater to see the show of Queen Esther. He said it was very good and that he would love to go to a theater like that again. The following day we packed up from our AirBnb and started the drive back north. We had a hotel in Iowa to stay for the night. It had a great pool where I went swimming with Leah and Brady. Until Brady pooped in his swim diaper and it was running down his leg...gross! We needed to get out of there! Ate at Culvers that night, went to bed and the next morning we were on our way home. It was a great trip filled with memories for us and the kids. Paige was more just along for the ride, but she did great the entire time!

And we're off!

The water was COLD and Brady was not a fan.

Paige didn't mind though
